RTS West of England Awards 2018
The team here at axisVFX has been extremely fortunate to work on some of the best-loved TV series of recent times. Working with incredibly talented teams on fantastically innovative projects has always been a huge motivator for us so to receive an award nomination for our artists’ work is an exciting bonus.
Following our nomination for the studio’s work on Doctor Who last year, axisVFX has again been recognised for its contribution to TV entertainment by the Royal Television Society West of England.
This time round the nod comes for our work on sci fi and comedy fan-favourite, Red Dwarf XII. Once again, we’ve been recognised in the Best Design: Programme Content and VFX category. This award celebrates the best visual effects, animation, CGI or content graphics in television.
“It’s brilliant to be nominated for an RTS award for the second year running,” says Howard Jones, co-founder and VFX supervisor at axisVFX. “Red Dwarf is a classic sci-fi comedy so we were very excited to be able to add to its legacy.”
“Working with Doug Naylor and the Red Dwarf team was great fun and incredibly very rewarding creatively.”
“We are very proud of the work we did and having this recognised by a nomination is simply great.”
AxisVFX is very pleased to be sponsoring the award for Film at this year’s RTS West of England Awards 2018. This award recognises the best theatrical film to have originated from the region. Congratulations to the Camden Film Company and Disneynature, Brian Leith Productions and Chuan Films for making the shortlist. Here’s wishing both production teams all the best on the night.
The Royal Television Society West of England Awards 2018 will take place Sunday, 11 March at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre, Bristol. The team would love to see you there.
Here’s to a successful night on 11 March. Good luck team!
