RTS West of England Nominations 2017
Here at axisVFX we’ve been very lucky to work on the iconic TV series Doctor Who. It’s a dream come true for many of our talented artists.
As if that wasn't exciting enough, axisVFX has also been recognised for its contribution to the show by the Royal Television Society West of England Awards!
We’ve been nominated in the Best Design: Programme Content and VFX category, awarded for our contribution to series nine’s ‘The Husbands of River Song’ episode.
"We’re proud and thrilled at axisVFX to have been nominated for the Royal Television Society's West of England Award,” says creative director Stuart Aitken.
“As with the Flatline episode in series eight, we worked hard to bring the Axis touch to the show, with a firmly design-led approach to enhancing the narrative and delivering memorable eye-catching effects.”
“It was great to work with director Douglas Mackinnon and the Doctor Who production team again, who always push us that little bit further, helping to enhance a great script and performances and bring the world of the show to life,” adds VFX supervisor Grant Hewlett.
“We're so proud of the team and couldn't be happier with the nomination in the Best Design: Programme Content and VFX category.”
The Royal Television Society West of England Awards takes place Sunday, March 19th at the Bristol Old Vic theatre, Bristol. We’d love to see you there; tickets are available from the venue’s box office from Monday, February 20th.
Our fingers are tightly crossed for the amazing team here at axisVFX!
